happy mail

This gorgeous stack of fabric came in the mail this week.  These are just a few prints from Sandi Henderson's Secret Garden line.  They are even prettier in real life than online, and the fabric feels so wonderful!  I can't wait to cut into these!
Tomorrow is the craft show.  I guess I am as ready as I can be.  I'll be back soon with pictures of our display, I am really excited with how it is shaping up!  Wish us luck!

make it do

I finished my Sarah Jane embroidery that I started over the summer.  It isn't perfect, but I still like it.  This was the first time I have ever done satin stitch and I think there is a definite learning curve there.  It really needs a bigger frame, but this will do for now.

so stinkin' cute

The family was watching TV the other night and we could hear Addie in her room, singing away, as happy as could be. When we went in to check on her this is what we found:
Her middle name is "trouble"  :)

life's a blur these days

Welcome to the chaos! You can hardly walk in my house right now... I've been busy working on my display for this weekend's craft show.
These bed frames got a fresh coat of paint and feet...
This $2 thrift store find got some hooks and is now the prefect display for Regan's jewelry...

I've been sewing, pricing, inventorying... you get the point.  I've got just a few days left to finish up everything for the show and I think I just might make it!

In other news, we installed two new ceiling fans over the weekend ( in our kitchen and living room).  They look so much nicer than the 30+ year old fans we took down now I want to hang new fans in every room!

I am off to try and get my house presentable for bible study and possibly sneak in a bit more sewing, as well as finish up school with Regan all before dinner, wish me luck!

moving on from the lemonade stand

Regan, my little entrepreneur, has been wanting make and sell something on Etsy for awhile now.  She sees me sewing and doing craft shows and wants to join in, but at 10, her sewing skills are not quite what they need to be to market her craft, so we went looking for something that she could make and sell and this is what we came up with...
I love these little Resin flowers and Regan had fun picking out all the colors she liked.
There are so many designs and colors to choose from, Regan started out with 3 different designs and figures if she does well, next order we will try some different flowers.

She has post earrings, a few dangling earring, child size hair pins and regular hair pins.

These roses were thrown in by the Etsy seller and we both really love them.  They will definitely be in the next order, as well as some Dahlias.
We are going to take these to our upcoming craft shows first and if there are any left I will post them in my Etsy shop.

*Sorry the pictures are not that great, it has been dark and gloomy here all week :(

birthday sewing

I'm am pretty busy getting things ready for my first craft show this fall (October 1st) but have found a bit of time to sneak in some birthday sewing for two of Tallulah's friends who turned 5 this month.  I have wanted to sew this doll from Hillary Lang's Wee Wonderful book since I got the book.

They turned out pretty cute, though they were hard to photograph. I used cotton instead of wool felt for the head/body which may contribute to the wrinkliness of the face.  I don't think the girls will notice or mind though.

busch gardens

Grandma and Grandpa George took us to Busch Gardens Yesterday.  It was the kids first time (Their dad and I went when Regan and Micah were babies) and we had a great time!  The weather was cloudy and cool and there were hardly any lines.

Tallulah road her first roller coaster (That's me with my arms up, she was next to me).  She was pretty terrified, but before the day was up she decided she wanted to ride again!

I'm not sure what it is about this picture, but I love it.  Maybe my favorite of the day.

Grandma even rode a few rides with the kids.

Another one of my favorite pictures from the day.  They rode the tea cups (Turkish Delight) twice...

And we rode the Trade Wind twice too.

Adelaide fell asleep in the stroller, so while everyone else rode the gondola from England to Germany Addie and I walked.

I think this was Adelaide's favorite ride of the day.

I had to include this picture because my face here pretty much sums up the ride.  The women loading us on took f.o.r.e.v.e.r. to load this 6 egg ride, and while we were waiting it started to rain... the only time all day, and we were stuck just sitting there.  Even Adelaide thought this ride was boring :)

Regan rode her first real roller coaster, Apollo's Chariot.  Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that since her dad and I both rode with her.  We never made it to the Griffon or that part of the park, we'll just have to save that for next time, hopefully it won't be another 8 years before we go back!

Thanks Grandma, we had a great time!

great wolf lodge

We surprised the kids with a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge (again) this weekend.  Poor Addie was fast asleep when we pulled into the parking lot and the kids started screaming with excitement.

Our room was not quite as big/nice as last time, but the kids LOVED the bunk beds :)

It was doubly fun to have some good friends there the same night as us.

And what a way to celebrate turning 10!  Happy Birthday Regan!

We had a great time, but I woke up in the middle of the night stuffy and by the time we got home yesterday I was miserable.  I can't remember the last time I had a cold this bad! At least it waited until after we left to get bad!  Today I am catching up on laundry and laying around the house... hopefully I will be feeling up to doing school tomorrow, although I am sure the kids don't mind another day off :)

Happy Birthday Regan and Max!

life these days

I found this bathing suit on the clearance rack at Target the other day.  I thought it would fit her NEXT summer... oh well, she still looks pretty cute in it for now :)

Anyway, life has been... full these days.  Between birthdays, starting school and various other things, I am finding I need to pull back from some stuff and it seems that taking a bit of a blog break is a no brainer as far as what to cut out.  I will still try and pop in here and there... I have been busy making party plans and can't wait to share some of those pictures with you and we have some fun things planned in the next few weeks that I can't talk about yet.  I hope to be back here regularly in a week and a half to two weeks.   Thanks for your understanding!

7!

Max turned 7 last Friday!
We started the day in our usual fashion of opening presents first thing in the morning.  The Nerf gun was a big hit.  I was a bit nervous, as he had never asked for one, but I figured out why when he opened the present and said "I though you wouldn't allow us to have Nerf guns!"  Not sure where he got that idea, but never the less, he was pleased with his gift :)
Regan made this really cool "doll house" for him.

The egg people were Micah contribution.  There is one for each of us, I think that is Addie in the picture bellow.
I did not get a picture of Tallulah's gift, but it is something that hangs and has pictures on it and a box with crayons and coloring pictures attached to it.

After lunch we went to Chuck E Cheese for a hour or so to play some games and we celebrated with friends that evening.

Happy Birthday Max!
